Skyhawks Continue Road Trip at Cowboys, ThunderWolves

UPCOMING GAMES
The Fort Lewis College men's basketball team will play on the road against New Mexico Highlands University and Colorado State University-Pueblo on Feb. 3 and Feb. 4. Friday's game will tip off at 7 p.m. and Saturday's game will tip off at 7:30 p.m. on Comcast Entertainment Television (CET).
 
NOTES
The Skyhawks enter the weekend first in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference with a 13-2 record (18-3 overall).
 
FLC's 18-3 start is the second time in program history they won 18 of their first 21 games (2015-16).
 
After being ranked No. 16 in the National Association Basketball Coaches Division II poll, the Skyhawks move up in the poll this week. FLC received 185 points and are now ranked No. 14 in Division II.
 
Fort Lewis extended their winning streak to six games this past weekend with a road win against Colorado Christian University, 93-85.
 
Riley Farris garnered a career high in scoring against the Cougars this past Saturday. Farris scored 13 of his 24 points (9-of-11 field goals) in the second half in route to a victory.
 
The Skyhawks have two of the top four scorers in the RMAC. Joshua Blaylock is second in the league with 19.0 points per game followed by Rasmus Bach's 18.9 points per game, which is fourth best in the RMAC.
 
Blaylock ranks second in the league in three-point field goals made (67) and third in three-point field goal percentage (48.9 percent).
 
Alex Semadeni leads the league in field goal percentage by draining 71.3 percent of his shots (67-of-94).
 
Will Morse is leading the league in assists with 109 (5.2 average) and a 3.6 assist/turnover ratio (109/30).
 
The Skyhawks have the league's best scoring offense (90.4 per game), scoring margin (plus 15.7 points per game), field goal percentage (52.7 percent), three-point field goal percentage (43.3 percent), and assists (17.8 average).
 
SCOUTING THE COWBOYS
New Mexico Highlands University owns a 6-9 RMAC record, which is 10th in the league standings. The Cowboys are 8-12 overall and 4-6 in home games this season.
 
The Cowboys are led in scoring by Ron Lawton (16.4 points per game). Lawton also leads the team in steals (1.3 per game).
 
Marlon Johnson leads the RMAC in rebounds per game by corralling 10.3 per game. Johnson is also third in blocked shots in the league rejecting 1.6 per game this season. He is second in the league for minutes played per game (33.9 per game), trailing only Blaylock (34.0 minutes per game).
 
NMHU is third in the conference in steals averaging 7.3 swipes per game. The Cowboys average 75.2 points per game this season, which is 11th most in the league.
 
SCOUTING THE THUNDERWOLVES
Colorado State University-Pueblo has a 12-3 RMAC record, which is third in the standings. The ThunderWolves are 14-6 overall with a 7-1 home record this season.
 
CSU-Pueblo's Nelson Kahler leads the league in blocked shots with 65 (3.3 per game). Mark Williams leads the ThunderWolves in scoring, averaging 14.3 per game.
 
Will Newman is fourth in the RMAC in assists averaging 4.3 dimes a game. He also leads the team in steals with 1.6 per game.
 
The ThunderWolves lead the league in blocked shots rejecting 5.8 per game. They are second in the conference in scoring offense (85.2 points per game) and field goal percentage (50.7 percent).
 
UP NEXT
The Skyhawks will resume play at home against Western State Colorado University and Colorado Mesa University on Feb. 10 and Feb. 11 to start a four game home stand.  Both games will tip off at 7:30 p.m. from Whalen Gymnasium.
