DURANGO – November 16, 2017 – The 16th-ranked Fort Lewis College men's basketball team opened their home season Thursday night against Northern New Mexico College (2-9), posting a 95-81 win in Whalen Gymnasium.
The win improves the Skyhawks to 2-1 overall.
FLC trailed for only 17 seconds against the Eagles, and led NNMC by as many as 24 points in the second half.
DJ Miles came off the bench to score a career high 21 points. He made 7-of-14 from the floor, 4-of-7 from three-point range and 3-of-6 from the charity stripe.
Marquel Beasley added 17 points and pulled down eight rebounds.
Rasmus Bach was one rebound shy of a double-double, netting 15 points to go with nine rebounds and four assists.
The Skyhawks made 33-of-66 field goals and 21-of-30 free throws.
FLC out-rebounded NNMC, 46-34 and out-scored the Eagles on second chance points, 20-7.
The Eagles Braxton Bouyer led all players with 27 points.
Fort Lewis will play host to Johnson & Wales University on Nov. 25 at 3 p.m.
