No. 19 Skyhawks Finish Strong in 85-69 Win at CSUP

PUEBLO, Colo. – December 1, 2017 – The 19th ranked Fort Lewis College men's basketball team used a 14-0 run in the final three minutes and 22 seconds of regulation to earn an 85-69 win at Colorado State-Pueblo Friday night in the first game of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference season.
 
The win improves FLC to 4-1 overall and 1-0 in the RMAC. CSUP drops to 3-4 overall and 0-1 in league games.
 
Leading by two points (71-69) with 3:22 left in regulation, the Skyhawks held the Pack scoreless after CSUP went 0-for-4 from the floor.  DJ Miles scored eight of his 15 points in the 14-0 run while Rasmus Bach made all four free throw attempts.
 
Marquel Beasley led five Skyhawks in double figure scoring with 16 points.  He added eight rebounds, two assists, one block and a steal. 
 
Brandon Wilson chipped in 14 points and eight rebounds.  Ten of Wilson's 14 points came in the first half.
 
Daniel Hernandez made 3-of-6 three-point field goals as part of his 14 points.  Riley Farris came off the bench to net 10 points in 15 minutes.
 
Bach made all six of his free throw attempts and is now 17-for-17 on the season.  He closed the game with nine points, eight assists and seven rebounds. 
 
FLC finished the game making 47 percent from the floor (31-of-66), 40 percent from long range (8-of-20) and 68.2 percent from the free throw line (15-of-22).
 
Fort Lewis out-rebounded the ThunderWolves, 43-32.  The Skyhawks also out-scored the Pack on second chance points, 18-6.
 
FLC will travel to New Mexico Highlands University on Saturday.  Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m.
