DURANGO – December 12, 2017 – For the second straight game, the No. 15 Fort Lewis College men's basketball team played to an overtime win in Whalen Gymnasium. The Skyhawks defeated Adams State University, 103-96.
FLC outscored the Grizzlies in overtime, 13-6, to improve to 8-1 on the season and 5-0 in league games.
Fort Lewis held a 45-34 edge at over ASU (5-6, 3-2 RMAC) at halftime, but the Grizzlies evened the game in the second half, 56-45.
FLC led by as many as 13 points in the second half before the Grizzlies closed out regulation outscoring FLC, 21-8, in the final five minutes.
Seven Skyhawks scored in double figures with
DJ Miles netting a team high 16 points after making 6-of-10 from the floor and 4-of-5 from the charity stripe.
Marquel Beasley,
Brandon Wilson and
Alex Semadeni each chipped in 15 points. Beasley and Wilson were both 6-of-10 from the floor and 3-of-4 from the charity stripe, while Semadeni made 5-of-6 field goals and 4-of-5 free throws.
Riley Farris came off the bench to register 12 points, four rebounds and two blocked shots.
Rasmus Bach dished out eight assists to go with his 11 points and
Daniel Hernandez added 11 points before fouling out of the game.
The Skyhawks were solid from the floor, sinking 37-of-62 field goals (59.7 percent).
Adams State's Shane Johnson led all scorers with 22 points.
FLC will travel to Westminster College on Friday, Dec. 15 for a 7:30 p.m. contest.
