Skyhawks Eclipse Century Mark against NNMC, 104-59

DURANGO – December 18, 2017 – For the second time this season and the second time in the last three games, the No. 15 Fort Lewis College men's basketball team eclipsed the century mark.  The Skyhawks bested NAIA Northern New Mexico Monday night, 104-59, in Whalen Gymnasium.
 
With the win, FLC improves to 9-2 on the year and 6-0 at home.  Northern New Mexico drops to 5-10 overall.
 
The 104 points are the most FLC has scored this season, and the 45-point margin of victory is their largest this season.
 
Fort Lewis trailed for more than nine minutes in the first half, but headed into halftime with a 40-31 lead, and outscored the Eagles in the second half, 64-28.
 
Seven Skyhawks scored in double figures against the Eagles.  Marquel Beasley led all players with 18 points and 13 rebounds for his second double-double of the season.  Beasley added three steals and two blocked shots.
 
Rasmus Bach made 6-of-10 from the floor and 3-of-6 from long range as part of his 17 points. 
 
Michael Ranson came off the bench to score a career high 15 points.  Ranson made all four field goal attempts, including 3-for-3 from behind the arc, and 4-of-7 from the free throw line.
 
The Eagles committed 34 fouls, sending the Skyhawks to the line 41 times.  FLC made 27 from the charity stripe for a 65.9 percent mark.  Fort Lewis tallied 50.8 percent from the floor, making 32-of-63, and 13-of-27 from behind the arc (48.1 percent).
 
Fort Lewis will remain at home for their next four games, starting Dec. 29-30 against Chadron State College and Regis University.
