Skyhawks Hold Off Rangers, 89-79

DURANGO – December 30, 2017 – The Fort Lewis College men's basketball team sank five of six free throws in the final 27 seconds of action to hold off Regis University, 89-79, Saturday night at Whalen Gymnasium.  FLC improves to 11-2 overall and 7-1 in league games, while remaining undefeated at home this season (8-0).
 
Brandon Wilson paced FLC with his third double-double of the season, scoring 16 points and grabbing a game high 13 rebounds.  Wilson made 6-of-10 from the floor and all four free throw attempts while contributing three assists and blocking three shots.
 
Rasmus Bach tied for game high honors with 17 points.  He netted 7-of-16 field goals and pulled down seven rebounds, all on the defensive glass.
 
Alex Semadeni came off the bench to block three shots and score six points.  DJ Miles scored both of the Skyhawks three-point field goals as part of his 15 points.  He made 2-of-6 from long range, including 5-of-6 from the charity stripe.
 
Fort Lewis shot better than 45 percent from the floor this season for the 10th time.  The Skyhawks made 32-of-65 field goals (49.2 percent) but were held to 16.7 percent from long range.
 
Both teams pulled down 42 rebounds but Regis outscored the Skyhawks on second chance points, 15-8.
 
The Skyhawks will remain at home Jan. 5-6 to play host to MSU Denver and UCCS.  Both games will tip-off at 7:30 p.m.
