DURANGO, Colo. – December 8, 2017 –
DJ Miles came off the bench to lead all scorers Friday night as the No. 15 Fort Lewis College men's basketball team defeated Colorado Mesa University in Whalen Gymnasium, 96-80.
With the win, FLC improves to 6-1 on three season and 3-0 in league games.
Miles netted 24 points as three Skyhawks scored at least 20 points in the 16 point win. Miles hit 5-of-6 three-point field goals and 7-of-12 free throws as part of his 24 points.
Rasmus Bach tallied 22 points and dished out a game high eight assists. Bach remains perfect from the free throw line this season, sinking all 21 attempts.
Daniel Hernandez tallied 12 points from behind the arc (4-of-10) and made all five free throws for 21 points.
Brandon Wilson registered 10 rebounds, three blocked shots, four assists and was one point shy of a double-double.
Both teams pulled down 34 rebounds. FLC forced CMU to turn the ball over 15 times and scored 18 points off of the turnovers.
Fort Lewis finished the night making 55.4 percent from the floor (31-of-56) and 52 percent from long range (12-of-23).
CMU (5-4, 1-2 RMAC) was led by Michael Skinner who scored 22 points.
The Skyhawks will face Western State Colorado University at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
