DURANGO, Colo. – February 17, 2017 – No. 22 Colorado School of Mines snapped the No. 11 Fort Lewis College men's basketball team's home winning streak Friday night at Whalen Gymnasium in a 94-82 overtime loss.
The Skyhawks were riding a 30 game home winning streak heading into tonight's matchup. The loss moves FLC to 22-4 on the year and 17-3 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. CSM improves to 21-4 overall and 16-3 in the RMAC.
The last time the Skyhawks lost at home was Feb. 14, 2015 against UCCS (L, 90-75).
FLC trailed by 15 points with 6:25 left in regulation but closed out the second half outscoring CSM, 25-10, to tie the game at 74-74 heading into overtime.
Joshua Blaylock led the Skyhawks comeback after hitting two three-point field goals and five free throws.
The Skyhawks were outscored in overtime, 20-8.
CSM attempted 23 more free throws than the Skyhawks, but made only 64.4 percent (29-of-45). FLC finished with 17 made free throws on 22 attempts.
Blaylock led all scorers with 35 points. He netted 11-of-26 field goals, 4-15 three-pointers and 9-of-10 free throws.
Rasmus Bach added 17 points and 11 rebounds, and
Brandon Wilson chipped in 10 points and five rebounds.
FLC will play their final regular season home game on Tuesday against Adams State University.
