DURANGO, Colo. – February 21, 2017 – For the first time in five seasons, the Fort Lewis College women's basketball team recorded a 20-win season. FLC defeated Adams State University Tuesday night in Whalen Gymnasium, 87-52, to improve to 20-6 overall and 15-6 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
The Skyhawks completed the season sweep over ASU behind
Alyssa Yocky's seventh double-double of the season. Yocky netted 13 points on 5-of-7 field goals and pulled down 11 rebounds to go with four steals.
Kayla Herrera led all scorers with 17 points. Three of Herrera's six field goals came from long range. She added a game high five steals and an assist.
Briana Clah chipped in 12 points and a game high six assists while
Shelby Patterson added 10 points and two steals.
Senior forward
Ande Lampert finished the game with seven points, six rebounds, three blocked shots and two assists.
The Skyhawks netted 29-of-60 field goals (48.3 percent) and 6-of-13 three-point field goals (46.2 percent) while holding the Grizzlies to a 24.2 field goal shooting mark.
FLC outrebounded the Grizzlies 47-34 and added 15 second chance points.
Fort Lewis will play their final game of the regular season on Friday at Westminster College at 5:30 p.m.
