SALT LAKE CITY – February 24, 2017 – The 14
th-ranked Fort Lewis College men's basketball team dropped an 84-78 decision at Westminster College Friday night in the final game of the regular season.
The loss drops the Skyhawks to 23-5 overall and 18-4 in league games. Westminster, who is not eligible for RMAC post-season play, finishes the regular season 16-7 overall and 16-5 in the RMAC.
Joshua Blaylock led all scorers with 30 points, recording his third 30-point game this season. Blaylock made 11-of-18 field goals, including 5-of-11 from long range.
Rasmus Bach added 13 points, six rebounds and four steals, and
Daniel Hernandez chipped in 12 points.
FLC made 29-of-72 field goals for 40.3 percent while the Griffins sank 30-of-53 for 56.6 percent.
Fort Lewis held the lead for only 5:16 minutes and trailed the Griffins for 30 minutes.
The Skyhawks forced 17 turnovers by the Griffins to score 30 points.
FLC is the No. 2 seed in the RMAC Tournament and will host a quarterfinal game on Tuesday, Feb. 28.
