Softball Ends Season on Senior Day

AZTEC, N.M. – April 30, 2017 – The Fort Lewis College softball team closed out the 2017 season Sunday afternoon against Chadron State College at Aztec Tiger Sports Complex in Aztec, N.M.  The Eagles took both games from the Skyhawks, 5-4, and 9-2. 
 
Sunday's games were the final games for five Skyhawks seniors: Tehenia Telliano, Olivia Goldberg, Mandy Owens, Megan Redd and Adriana Rosthenhausler.
 
Angelique Elemen hit her 17th homerun of the season in the first game, followed by Mandy Owen's fourth homerun this year. 
 
Six Skyhawks recorded a hit in game one as FLC finished with seven hits.  Elemen led the team with two hits and Owens drove in three runs.
 
Kelly Decker worked all seven innings in the circle, surrendering four runs on five hits.
 
In game two, Lauren Caldwell tallied two hits and scored one run.  Telliano notched a hit and run scored as the Skyhawks finished with eight hits. 
 
Goldberg pitched the first 5.1 innings, allowing three earned runs on 11 hits.  Redd closed the game, working the final 1.2 innings and allowing 1 hit.
 
FLC closes their season 6-43 overall and 5-35 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
