University of the Southwest (2-5) answered with a 6-0 run to get to within three, before FLC closed the final three minutes on their own 6-0 run to take a 19-10 lead. Carter, Yocky and then Carter again accounted for the six points down the stretch.

FLC held the Mustangs without a point for almost five minutes to start the second half and during that time the Skyhawks went on a 9-0 run with points from Carter, Kayla Herrera, Tobey and Adams to stretch the lead to 51-20.

Abigail Jensen and Aubre Fortner helped end the third quarter in style with Jensen converting a fastbreak layup and Fortner nailing a three to push FLC out to a 68-35 lead.
