LAS VEGAS, Nevada – February 3, 2018 – In day two of the MSU Billings Desert Stinger Classic, the Fort Lewis College softball team lost two decisions to California State University Dominguez Hills and Stanislaus State University. FLC (0-4 overall) lost the first game to CSUDH, 11-0 (five innings), and 6-3 against SSU.
Against the Toros, the Skyhawks were held to four hits.
Allison Young,
Angelique Elemen,
Madelynne Blood-Smyth and
Emily Selby each recorded a hit.
Kassidy Trumbo saw her first action in the circle for the Skyhawks, pitching the first two-thirds inning and allowing four earned runs on four hits.
Kelly Decker closed out the game with four earned runs on seven hits.
CSUDH scored 11 runs on 14 hits.
In the night cap game, Stanislaus State took a 5-0 lead in the first five innings before FLC plated three runs in the sixth inning.
Lauren Caldwell and
Tristen Gilbert each drove in a run for the Skyhawks.
Denae Fisher,
Cassie Sloan and
Robyn Hall accounted for the Skyhawks three runs.
Kendra Keahbone worked all seven innings, surrendering five earned runs on 11 hits.
The Skyhawks will play their fifth and final game of the Desert Stinger Classic on Sunday at 12:30 p.m. against No. 5 Humboldt State University.
