ST. GEORGE, Utah – February 8, 2018 – California Baptist scored one run in the bottom of the sixth inning to edge the Fort Lewis College softball team by one run, 4-3, Thursday afternoon at the Dixie State University Easton Classic in St. George, Utah.

Angelique Elemen hit her first homerun of the season in the top of the first inning to give FLC a 1-0 lead before the Lancers tied the game in their first inning at the plate.
CBU added a two-run homerun in the bottom of the second inning to take a 3-1 lead over FLC, but the Skyhawks tied the game at 3-3 in the bottom of the fourth inning. With the bases loaded,
Brittany Bigge reached base on a fielder's choice that scored
McKenna Hefley. Two batters later,
Cassie Sloan also reached base on a fielder's choice, allowing
Madelynne Blood-Smyth to score the game-tying run.
With the bases loaded in the sixth inning, the Lancers scored the game-winning run on a single to the left side.
Kendra Keahbone pitched all six innings for the Skyhawks, allowing four earned runs on 10 hits.
Elemen, Hefley and Blood-Smyth accounted for the Skyhawks three hits.
FLC (0-6) will face Dominican University tomorrow at 12:30 p.m., followed by Hawaii-Hilo at 5:30 p.m.
