DENVER – March 17, 2018 – The Fort Lewis College softball team lost two games Saturday afternoon at Regis University. The Skyhawks fell in the series opener, 11-1 in five innings, and 6-2 in game two.
The Skyhawks lone run in the first game was scored by
Angelique Elemen.
McKenna Hefley reached base on a field error that allowed Elemen to score in the bottom of the second inning.
Denae Fisher, Hefley and
Madelynne Blood-Smyth each recorded a hit for the Skyhawks.
Kassidy Trumbo pitched all four innings for FLC, allowing 11 earned runs on 12 hits and striking out three batters.
In game two, the Skyhawks posted seven hits against the Rangers. Fisher and
Lauren Caldwell led FLC with two hits each. With one out in the sixth inning, Fisher hit a double to right center to reach base. Caldwell hit Fisher home on her own double for the Skyhawks lone run of the game.
Kelly Decker struck out four batters in 4.1 innings of work. She allowed three earned runs on six hits before being relieved by
Kendra Keahbone.
The Skyhawks will play the last two games of the series on Sunday beginning at 10 a.m.
