Softball Held to Two Runs at UCCS

COLORADO SPRINGS – April 14, 2018 – The Fort Lewis College softball team was held to two runs Saturday afternoon at the UCCS Mountain Lion Field.  The Skyhawks were swept by UCCS, 6-2 and 11-0 (five innings).
 
FLC moves to 13-31 on the season and 7-23 in league games.  UCCS improves to 18-24 overall and 13-17 in the RMAC.
 
Allison Young and Denae Fisher scored both runs for FLC in the series opener.  Both runs came in the seventh inning when Lauren Caldwell tallied FLC's lone hit of the game.
 
Kelly Decker pitched all six innings for FLC, accounting for five earned runs on 11 hits and striking out two batters.
 
The Skyhawk tabbed six hits in game two but were held scoreless.  Fisher and Caldwell each tallied two hits for FLC, and Taylor Beaman and Emily Selby added one hit each.  Caldwell hit her 15th double of the season and Fisher stole her 23rd base of the season, the fifth most in the league.
 
Kassidy Trumbo suffered the loss in the circle, allowing eight earned runs on 13 hits.
 
Both teams will face each other for a doubleheader Sunday morning at 11 a.m.
