DURANGO, Colo. – April 21, 2018 – Playing their final home game of the season, the Fort Lewis College women's lacrosse team defeated Colorado State University-Pueblo, 13-10, at Ray Dennison Memorial Field.
The Skyhawks honored their six seasons before the game:
Kelli Warmouth,
Brooke Galle,
Taylor Cabrera,
Ryanne Brust,
Ashley Muckway and
Ally Guerrero.
The win improves FLC to 5-6 overall and 5-3 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, and it clinched the Skyhawks a spot in the post-season tournament. CSU-Pueblo drops to 3-9 overall and 2-6 in league games.
Fort Lewis never trailed in the game as
Anna Dennison opened with back-to-back goals. The Skyhawks largest lead of the game was five goals, 10-5, when
Delaney Benson scored a goal with eight ticks left in the first half.
Abby Escandon paced FLC with four points, after recording a hat trick and adding an assist. Warmouth scored one of her two goals at 13:28 from Cabrera's assist to net the game-winning goal.
The Skyhawks will play their final game of the regular season at Westminster College on April 27 at 3 p.m.
