"Steven was solid in the 5k. We don't even know his ceiling and I think he's starting to get a taste of how good he can be," Coon said.

Brandon Sheard competed in the 10,000-meter run and posted a time of 36:26.07 which was good for 21st.

"After multiple surgeries Brandon is back and getting fit," Coon said. "This 10k should give him some really positive momentum for the summer. "

On the women's side, Saylor Sargent was pushing for a top-three result in the 800-meter run and ended up crossing in fourth with a time of 2:21.95. Sarah Chacon nearly grabbed a top-10 finish as she crossed in 11th with a time of 2:26.67.

"Saylor has been delayed by injury but is rounding into form just in time," Coon said. "This should get her into RMAC next week. As always, she brings a fierceness and fight that is fun to watch."

Elder also ran well in the 5,000-meter run pushing to a time of 20:19.00 which placed her in 16th.

The Skyhawks had a strong showing in the 10,000-meter run with Rhylyn Jones, Jessica Ramirez and Carly Wilborn all finishing between fourth and sixth place. Karla De La Cruz added an eight-place finish with a time of 44:53.20.

"Our four women ran most of the 10k as a workout, we will decide who will run it at RMAC this week," Coon said. "They worked together and took care of each other and in that grinder of race, that's exactly what we want to see."
