VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The final day of the NCAA Division II National Championships proved just as dramatic as day one, with senior Brady Burrough earning national runner-up honors in the mile and senior Hannah Hartwell claiming Second Team All-American recognition in the 3000m.
The men's mile delivered another thrilling finish. After appealing to gain entry into the finals, Burrough appeared to secure a third-place finish—initially earning First Team All-American honors and the first All-American accolade of his career. Following a post-race review, however, the race winner was disqualified, moving Burrough into the national runner-up position and capping his indoor track career with a storybook finish.
Hartwell followed in the women's 3000m, placing 14th to earn Second Team All-American honors. Her time of 9:35.20 added to her All-American performance in Friday's 5000m.
