FLC men's golf closes out fall semester schedule with a 15th place finish at Midwestern State Invitational

WICHITA FALLS, Texas — The Fort Lewis College men's golf team completed the fall portions of its schedule this week, finishing 15th overall in a loaded field out at Wichita Falls Country Club in Texas.

Leading the way for the Skyhawks was sophomore Nicholas Krantz as he turned in a tie for 34th overall with a tournament score of +5 (218), firing rounds of 73-68-77 and climbing as high as 18th in the 108-man field. Krantz did the bulk of his damage on Par-5s, where he was -5 for the tournament;tied for the fourth best mark in the tournament.

Close behind was senior Darren Edwards, fresh off his RMAC Men's Golfer of the Week honors, in a tie for 36th overall. Edwards shook off a tough Monday where he shot 75-74 in succession, climbing 30 spots up the leaderboard Tuesday following a round of -1 (70).

True freshman Ronald Kildall III continued his solid play this semester, finishing in a tie for 51st overall at +10 (223), highlighted by his even-par 70 in Round One.

Rounding out the Skyhawks' scorecard was senior Samuel Salisbury in a tie for 70th overall at +14 (227) and junior Kellen Kudrna in a tie for 101st place at +23 (236).

Fort Lewis will now hit pause on tournament play and prepare for the championship portion of its schedule in the spring. The Skyhawks are still finalizing their fall tournament plans, expected to be announced in the coming weeks, with all roads leading to the RMAC Championships scheduled for April 17-19, 2020 at Whirlwind Golf Club in Chandler, AZ.
