DURANGO, Colo. – On the road for the second-straight week, the Fort Lewis College women's soccer team is set to face No. 10 Colorado School of Mines and Regis University for a Friday/Sunday tilt. It will be the team's toughest Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference doubleheader of the season as the pair of opponents hold down the top-two spots in the league.

Looking Back
The Skyhawks faced Colorado Mesa University and Westminster College last week, falling in both contests on the road. In the Mesa match, The Mavericks outshot the Skyhawks 22-8 for the match, including a 7-4 edge in shots on goal. Fort Lewis held the edge in corner kick opportunities, coming away with six to Mesa's four. Elizabeth David led the team with three shots, all of which were on target. McKenna Ford followed with two goals in 90 minutes of play. Katlyn Rosenbaum played all 90 minutes at goal and earned five saves in the effort.

Fort Lewis went on to fall by a 2-1 final to Westminster on Sunday in Salt Lake City. The Griffins outshot the Skyhawks 28-1 for the match, including a 10-1 in shots on target. The Skyhawks' lone shot came from Hannah Paschke who made the most of her moment, netting her team-best third goal of the season. Madyson Barela picked up an assist in the effort, her first of the season and second of her Fort Lewis career. Katie Dunbabin and Riley Bravin combined for seven saves for the match.

Scouting No. 10 Colorado School of Mines
The Orediggers remain unbeaten in conference play after a 1-0-1 weekend. Mines topped Colorado Christian last week before playing to a 2-2 draw against UCCS on Sunday. Mines is leading the conference in scoring average (2.54 GPG) and ranks second in opponents scoring average (.77 GPG). Reese McDermott has nine goals to her credit this season, a mark that sits second in the conference. From there, the Orediggers have a wealth of offensive outlets. Laura Butler has five goals, followed by Jordan Barnhart at four and a trio of players with three. Emma Carstens has started in nine contests between the pipes and holds a .91 goals-against average with 20 saves.

Fort Lewis is 5-16-2 all-time against Mines and has dropped the last three meetings. Last season, the game ended in a 3-0 final from Dirks Field. Rosenbaum had seven saves and Barela led the team with two shots for the match.

Scouting Regis University
The Rangers sit at 8-4-2 on the year and 7-0-1 in RMAC play after a 1-0-1 week. The team played to a scoreless draw against CSU Pueblo on Friday before turning it around for a 2-0 win over Colorado Christian on Sunday. Regis is averaging 1.57 goals per game while holding its opponents to a .86 average. The Rangers have a balanced offense that features 15 players with at least one point. Audrey Teague leads the way with six goals and two assists (14 points) and is followed by Kelby Kuo with four goals and one helper. Katelyn Martin has started 13 games at goal and holds a .95 goals-against average with 66 saves.

Fort Lewis is 7-12-3 all-time against Regis and dropped last season's meeting by a 3-2 final score. Barela and Swindle each earned a goal in the loss.

Around the RMAC
The league is represented in the United Soccer Coaches Top 25 by Colorado School of Mines at No. 10. The Orediggers held steady in the top-10 after a 1-0-1 weekend. UCCS had been receiving votes for a handful of weeks but dropped out after last weekend's play.

Mesa's Lila Dere continues to lead the league in scoring with 15 goals in 13 games played. Alexa Maple of Westminster is the leading assister with 10 to her credit. MSU Denver's Kylie Bach leads all goalkeepers with a .829 goals-against average.

Paschke Heating Up
Senior Hannah Paschke has been a welcome addition to the offense as of late, netting three goals in her last four outings. The Denver native played in her first game as a Skyhawk on September 16 against CSU Pueblo but didn't register her first shot until the following week in a match versus NMHU. Her first goal came in the following match on a corner kick serve from Julia Johnson, and she went on to score the game-winner against Adams State on a penalty kick the following match. Paschke's most impressive score of the season came on Sunday with a perfectly placed header off the corner from Barela. She is now leading the team with three goals on the year.

Up Next
Fort Lewis is back home for its final three matches of the regular season. The Skyhawks will face Black Hills State University on Friday, Oct. 21 for a 7:00 p.m. match, followed by a Sunday afternoon showdown against MSU Denver. The team closes it out on Wednesday, Oct. 26 against Western Colorado University for senior night.

Fort Lewis sits eighth overall in conference standings and will rely heavily on its last few games to secure a spot in the RMAC Tournament. The top eight squads advance to postseason play. BHSU ranks last in the conference with a 1-9-2 overall record while MSU Denver and Western Colorado are third and tied for eighth, respectively.
