COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- The Fort Lewis College women's soccer team had three student-athletes named to the All-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference teams as announced by the league on Tuesday.

Making the Honorable Mention list for the second consecutive season was senior Madyson Barela. After a breakthrough season in 2021, the midfielder added to her success in her final season on the pitch. Known for her ability to find the back of the net from distance, the Rio Rancho, New Mexico product tied for the team lead with four goals on the year—all of which came in RMAC play.

"Madyson finished her career strong with a couple of goals toward the end which came in key moments for this team," said head coach Damian Clarke. "She has grown into a kid that we could depend on in the moments when we needed a goal, and that speaks to her leadership."

Barela played in 17 games this season, starting in 11 and totaling 910 minutes. She ends her career in the sky blue having played in 52 matches and over 3000 minutes. Barela closes it out with 13 career goals, three of which were game-winners, to go along with two assists.

Sophomore Elizabeth David joins Barela on the Honorable Mention list for her second career All-RMAC award. She was a workhorse for the Skyhawks this season, playing and starting in all 19 matches and leading the team in minutes at 1627. In addition to her comfort on the defensive end, she proved to be a scoring threat on free-kick chances as well. The sophomore netted one goal from distance and put 13 shots on frame to challenge the opposition in key moments.

"Most teams try to prevent Elizabeth from being able to dictate the build, so it is clear that she is a player that makes a difference when she's on the field. She was a very solid and collected player all year long, and we expect her to continue to grow throughout her career," said Clarke.

The Mesa, Arizona native played the full 90 minutes in all but three matches this season and was a vital leader on the backline that featured a trio of newcomers. With her held, the Skyhawks posted four shutouts and a 1.25 goals-against average in RMAC play to rank seventh overall.

After an impressive freshman campaign last season, Sabrina Reyes treated fans to even more crafty play in her second year on the pitch—earning her Honorable Mention accolades. She ranked second on the team with three goals to bring her career total to four. Of her 17 shots this season, 11 made their way on frame. The sophomore ranked sixth on the year with 1166 minutes played after starting in 17 matches.

"I think that Sabrina's ability and creativity to come up with something in a tight space is what makes her stand out. She is able to improvise in different scenarios and be dangerous which is fun for everyone to watch," acknowledged Clarke.

Reyes was locked in from start to finish this season and matched a season-high with three shots in the team's finale versus No. 25 UCCS on Sunday. Her persistent effort continued to wear down the opposing defenders as the minutes ticked by, resulting in a late tie that nearly sent the match to overtime.

Colorado Mesa's Lila Dere earned RMAC Player of the Year nods for the second-straight season after putting away a league-best 23 goals. Colorado School of Mines had the Freshman of the Year (Afton Rasco), Defensive Player of the Year (Jordan Barnhart), and Coach of the Year (Kevin Fickes) while UCCS took home Goalkeeper of the Year (Alexis Walker).
