DURANGO, Colo. – The Fort Lewis College men's basketball team makes its 2023-24 season debut as the number 15 team on the National Association of Basketball Coaches Top 25 Preseason Poll, the organization announced Tuesday morning.

The Skyhawks finished the 2022-23 season with a program record 29-4 overall record including 25 regular season wins and a 10-1 record on the road. Fort Lewis also captured a share of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference regular season title and the RMAC Tournament Championship for the third time in program history.

Fort Lewis ended last season ranked seventh on the NABC poll and fifth on the Division II College Sports Communicators Top 25 Media Poll.

Last offseason, the Skyhawks had to face the challenge of replacing all five starters from its NCAA Round of 32 team. Fort Lewis faced the task head-on, bringing in seven highly talented transfers from the junior college, Division II, and Power-Five NCAA Division I levels.

FLC opens its season with the South-Central Region Crossover at Eastern New Mexico University. The Skyhawks will play the season-opener on Friday, Nov. 4, against 19th-ranked Angelo State University on the neutral floor before challenging the Greyhounds on Saturday, Nov. 5.

This year's preseason poll marks the 15th consecutive week Fort Lewis has been nationally ranked dating back through the 2022-23 season.
