Men’s golf duo captures first RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll nods

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Two individuals from the Fort Lewis College men's golf team, Henry Poston and Ronald Kildall III, have each earned their first Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference All-Academic Honor Roll recognition, the league announced Wednesday afternoon.

To be eligible for honor roll consideration, a student-athlete must carry a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (GPA) and must have been an active student at the institution for at least two consecutive semesters or three consecutive quarters. First Team All-Academic members were voted on by the conference's sports information directors for meeting those criteria as well as demonstrating outstanding performance on the court.

"What a group of outstanding individuals and golfers," head coach Jim Foltz shared. "Graduating champions is what we live by, and academics is something I take very seriously. If things are going haywire academically then I won't let my athletes compete. I'll even take a shorter roster to a tournament if I have to. I'm proud because across the board they've all shown that they care about Fort Lewis, golf, and especially their academics."

Kildall III leads the pair of Skyhawks after capturing the highest finish among Skyhawks men at the RMAC Championships. A sophomore from Everett, Wash., Kildall III boasts a 3.63 GPA studying Economics. At the RMAC Championships, Kildall III finished in a tie for 12^th place with an even par of 216 on the scorecard.

Poston, a junior from Los Alamos, N.M., also competed at the RMAC Championships and took 25^th after finishing five strokes above par with a final score of 221. Poston owns a 3.56 GPA and focuses his studies on Accounting.

The University of Colorado at Colorado Springs' Travis Bossio was named the RMAC Men's Academic Golfer of the Year.

With the 2022-23 season in the books, the Skyhawks will enjoy their summer break before returning for the fall season in September.
