COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) announced the women's lacrosse All-Academic teams on Thursday with 10 Fort Lewis College student-athletes earning recognition.

To be eligible for honor roll consideration, a student-athlete must carry a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (GPA) and must have been an active student at the institution for at least two consecutive semesters or three consecutive quarters. First Team All-Academic members were voted on by the conference's sports information directors for meeting those criteria as well as demonstrating outstanding performance on the field.

Headlining the group for Fort Lewis was the senior duo of Averi Basso and Rebecca Kiyokawa who were named to the First Team. The pair join 10 additional players from four conference institutions to be named to the First Team. Basso is a two-time First Team honoree to go along with an Honor Roll nod in 2021. The Oregon native graduated last weekend with her undergraduate degree in Psychology, earning a 3.96 GPA along the way. Kiyokawa is also adding her second-consecutive First Team honor to her body of work after being named to the Honor Roll in 2021. Kiyokawa, also from Oregon, graduated with a 3.97 GPA in Psychology.

Eight additional Skyhawks were named to the Honor Roll, including senior Makena Carter*** (3.63 GPA, Psychology), juniors Caprietta Abbadessa** (3.86 GPA, Sports Administration), Ellie Martinez* (3.43 GPA, Business Administration), Alyssa Strough** (3.98 GPA, Adventure Education), Kaylin Vanzant** (3.46 GPA, Psychology), and sophomores Mikki Brown (3.68 GPA, Political Science), Caley Lay (3.87 GPA, Exercise Physiology, Phoebe Ramirez (3.53 GPA, Environmental Conservation and Management).
