COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) has announced its women's lacrosse All-Conference teams, with senior defenders Samantha Rodgers and Sydney Tannaci earning Second Team honors.
The defensive duo ranks among the best in the country. Rodgers and Tannaci finished first and second in the conference in ground balls per game, and both ranked in the top five in caused turnovers.
Rodgers makes her fourth career appearance on the All-Conference list after earning three consecutive Honorable Mention selections. She led the conference with 3.83 caused turnovers per game, a mark that currently ranks second in NCAA Division II. She also finished second in the RMAC with 3.33 ground balls per game. Rodgers set a new program record with 150 career ground balls and extended her own program record in caused turnovers, finishing with 135.
Tannaci earned her third career All-Conference honor and her second Second Team selection. She led the conference with 3.70 ground balls per game, ranking sixth nationally in NCAA Division II. She also ranked fourth in the RMAC with 1.80 caused turnovers per game. Tannaci's 107 career ground balls rank sixth in program history, while her 70 caused turnovers rank fourth. She also contributed on the draw throughout her career, finishing in the program's top 10 with 72 draw controls.
