Junior guard and Houston, Texas, native Obi Agbim was honored as the league's Week Nine Offensive Player of the Week after registering 39 points over the weekend as Fort Lewis claimed 88-72 and 94-62 victories over Chadron State and Colorado Christian, respectively. Agbim shot an efficient 56 percent from the field and 53 percent from beyond the arc as the Skyhawks shot a combined 55 percent or better in back-to-back games for the first time this season.

Last Time Out
The Skyhawks, backed by its two largest crowds of the season of over 2,000, dominated the Eagles and Griffins in a thunderous return to Whalen Gymnasium last weekend. The Skyhawks clamped Chadron State, the league's third-highest offense behind FLC, to only 28 points in the first half and just shy of 38 percent shooting for the contest. Facing Colorado Christian, Fort Lewis doubled up the Cougars on turnovers 16-8 while exploding for 59 points off the bench, the most in a game this season, and holding CCU to 31 points in each quarter and 27.6 percent shooting from deep.

Scouting the No. 7 Mavericks
The Skyhawks and Mavericks are set to meet as a Top 10 matchup for the first time since the series began in 1976. Fans traveling to Grand Junction are encouraged to purchase their tickets early and wear all-black to support the Skyhawks. Colorado Mesa has been on an absolute tear to open conference play this season. The Mavericks, who tied Fort Lewis as the 2022-23 Co-RMAC Regular Season Champions, remain unbeaten against conference opponents with its only two losses of the season coming at the hands of current No. 1 West Texas A&M 16-1, 10-0 LSC) 81-66 and No. 4 Dallas Baptist (15-1, 9-1 LSC) who downed CMU in the season-opener.

The Mavs lead the league in offense (86.1 points per game) directed by NABC Second-Team All-Region talent Trevor Baskin who's averaging a dominant 16.1 points and 8.4 rebounds per game. Baskin is aided by 2022-23 RMAC Defensive Player of the Year Mac Riniker, who averages 14.8 points, 5.5 rebounds, and a conference-leading 2.4 steals per game. Owen Koonce rounds out the Mavs to average double figures with 13.5 points and 4.2 rebounds per game.

The Griffins are putting up 70.6 points per game to its opponent's 77.4. Fort Lewis met Westminster back on Dec. 16, at home in Whalen Gymnasium when the Skyhawks handed WU a 90-62 loss on the back of 46 percent shooting, 21 forced turnovers, and limiting the Griffins to 28 points in the second half.

Chase Potter is headlining the Griffins' starting five with 13.1 points per game on 49.6 percent shooting from the floor. Trey Wood is the next man up for WU and he's posted an efficient 12.9 points with the second-most assists (35) and leads the roster in rebounding (5.2) and blocked shots (14).
