MESCALERO, N.M. – Junior and Greeley, Colorado, native Traejan Andrews shot his way to an even-par through his final round to ultimately capture the individual title at the Ruidoso Junior Golf Association's South Central Shootout down at the Inn of the Mountain Gods with a five-under-par score of 211 after three rounds.

Andrews becomes the first Skyhawk to win an individual title since Gavin Lyons shared medalist honors with CSU Pueblo's Chad Novak in the 2011 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championships.

"It feels awesome; it felt like I've been knocking on the door for quite a while, and it feels great to come out and get one," Andrews shared post-tournament. "The first few rounds felt like the kind of day where you had to grind it out. The greens weren't in the best shape, but I knew if I stuck to my plan, stayed aggressive, and gave myself opportunities, putts would start to fall."

After carding a 69 (-3), the second-lowest single-round score in the tournament, in his first round and a 70 (-2) in round two, Andrews came back with an even-par of 72 in his final round thanks to five birdies on holes one, three, nine, eleven, and fourteen to offset a trio of bogeys and a double-bogey on hole twelve. Andrews' 211 (-5) total is the lowest of his career for a three-round tournament.

Fort Lewis captured third place as a team, finishing the tournament with a total score of 875 (+11) after being jumped by West Texas A&M who totaled an 873 (+9) as a team to edge the Skyhawks by two strokes. Texas Permian Basin held on and captured the team title with a seven-over-par score of 871.

While Jackson Rottschafer managed to capture a tie for fifth place on an even par of 216, he competed as an unattached individual, so his total could not contribute to Fort Lewis' team score. Jordan Jennings notched the second-highest finish among qualifying team contributors with a two-over-par, 218.

Tyler Tyson and Jake Chesler shared a two-way tie for 22nd after the duo carded identical totals of 225 (+9). Carson Kerr added a tie for 31st and a 229 (+13) total to the Skyhawks team score, while Ronald Kildall III rounded out the unattached individuals with a tie for 24th on a score of 226 (+10).
