PUEBLO, Colo. – Following a tough opening round in the stifling heat, the Skyhawks battled back with a gritty day-two performance to cut down 18 strokes and ultimately climb two spots into a seventh-place finish among eleven teams over at the CSU Pueblo Fall Invitational at the Pueblo Country Club.

Fort Lewis' 18-stroke difference between round one and round two marked the highest team improvement in the tournament by six strokes. The Skyhawks added a round two total of 313 (+25) to finish with a 644 (+68) total as a team and overcome eighth-place Chadron State (649, +73) and ninth-place North Idaho (669, +93).

Tournament host CSU Pueblo, who earned votes on last Friday's Mizuno Women's Golf Coaches Association Top 25 Poll, cruised to team medalist honors as the ThunderWolves finished with a score of 598 (+22) and a comfortable eight-stroke lead ahead of Lubbock Christian (606, +30).

It was The Pack's own Freya Constable, a junior from Edinburgh, Scotland, who carded a dominant 69 (-3) in the final round to earn the only single-round below-par finish of the tournament. Constable jumped two positions and captured individual medalist honors with a comfortable four-stroke lead on a 143 (-1).

Dimery Plewe put together a strong second round as the Four Corners native cut down four strokes thanks to an eagle on hole twelve and a pair of birdies on holes four and six to cap the afternoon with a 75 (+3) and ultimately tied for 12th on a 154 (+10) total.

Vivianna Holguin and Peyton Gibby each made tremendous strides in their second trips through the Pueblo Country Club, climbing 14 and 18 spots, respectively. Holguin tallied a 76 (+4) to total 160 (+16) for the week and picked up the Skyhawks second top 25 finish with a tie for 25th. Gibby, on the other hand, shaved off nine strokes in her second round to record a 78 (+6) and capture a tie for 33rd on a 165 (+21).

Rounding out Fort Lewis' five-woman squad were Sarah Grenemyer and Sabrina Ladd, who earned ties for 41st and 52nd on 170 (+26) and 176 (+32) totals, respectively. In addition, the Skyhawks three unattached individuals, Isabel Bustillos (162, +18), Annika Gutierrez (178, +34), and Elina Beyer (202, +58), picked up 30th, 55th, and 62nd-place finishes.
