DURANGO, Colo. – For the third straight year, the Fort Lewis men's basketball team (1-3) will play host to non-conference opponents Western New Mexico (0-2) and Northern New Mexico (1-7) for a pair of games alongside neutral-site contests with fellow Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference member Colorado Mesa (0-2) in Whalen Gymnasium this Friday and Saturday.

Neutral Site
Colorado Mesa will play a flipped schedule to Fort Lewis, taking on Northern New Mexico on Friday at 2 p.m. and Western New Mexico on Saturday at 5 p.m. Tickets purchased will grant admission to both basketball games each day.

Tickets do not include admission to either volleyball game.

Biko Buckets
Senior guard Biko Johnson has made himself as comfortable as can be in Whalen Gymnasium after leading the Skyhawks over the past weekend in scoring. Currently averaging 18.5 points per game, the fourth-most in the league, on 52.9 percent (27-51) shooting, Johnson has finished in double figures in three of his four games thus far. Johnson opened last weekend with a 19-point performance against Eastern New Mexico (1-1) before scoring 26 points against Angelo State (1-1) the following night which is the most by a Skyhawk this season.

Conference Crossover
Last weekend, Fort Lewis made its home debut, posting a 66-55 win over Eastern New Mexico in a defensive standoff before dropping a narrow 69-63 game to Angelo State the following night. The Skyhawks bounced back from the week before to shoot 40.0 percent for the weekend and forced 36 turnovers from the opposition. While Johnson led FLC in scoring, four other players posted double-digit finishes against the Greyhounds, including Chuol Deng with 15 points, Tru Allen with 14 points, and Stewart Erhart with another 12 points.

Mustangs in the RMAC
Western New Mexico kicked off the season in a similar fashion to Fort Lewis, taking on Westminster (1-1) and Adams State (2-0) next door in Alamosa, Colo. The Mustangs fell twice, suffering an 83-50 rout at the hands of the Griffins, who shot over 50.0 percent for the game and outrebounded WNMU 32-22. Western New Mexico flipped the script in game two, led by Quincy Adams' 21-point outing, but struggled to shoot from the perimeter at just 27.3 percent (3-11) to ultimately fall 88-80 to the home Grizzlies.

A Look at the Eagles
Northern New Mexico picked up its first win of the season last Tuesday, 65-64, over North American University (3-1) thanks to a big three-pointer from Miokaye Grant with 1:19 remaining to go up seven points and seal the game. Nigel Quaynor leads the team averaging 15.2 points per game on 69.5 percent shooting from the field while Eloy Medina adds another 14.0 points per game, respectively.

Looking Ahead
Fort Lewis will close out its non-conference schedule in Grand Junction, Colo., next Friday and Saturday inside Brownson Arena on the campus of Colorado Mesa for a pair of neutral-site matchups with Emporia State (1-2) on Friday, Nov. 22, at 5:30 p.m. and Bowie State (1-2) on Saturday, Nov. 23, at 5:30 p.m. as well.
