DURANGO, Colo. – The Fort Lewis football team (3-7, 2-6 RMAC) will look to ride on the momentum of back-to-back wins on Saturday afternoon as the Skyhawks head into Golden, Colo., for the final Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference game of the season at no.24-ranked Colorado School of Mines (7-3, 5-3 RMAC) on Alumni Field at Marv Kay Stadium. The game will be broadcast on KDCO Denver as well as the RMAC Network for free.

Into the Backfield
Junior Trenton Sullivan had one of the best games of any defensive back in Division II last week as he became just the second player nationally to record three sacks for a combined loss of 17 yards among his four tackles for loss that amounted to 20 yards in total. Sullivan racked up seven solo tackles in the game, resulting in the Aurora, Colo., being named the Week 10 RMAC Defensive Player of the Week, the first of his career and the second defensive honor for a Skyhawk this season.

Can't Catch Guevara
Nine was the lucky number last week as Fort Lewis running back and lead return man ran his way into the Skyhawks record books with a 99-yard kickoff return for a touchdown, which is the ninth in program history. In addition, Guevara became the ninth player in Division II with a 99+ yard kickoff this season. In total, Guevara had 132 return yards, 48 rushing yards, and 27 receiving yards to lead the league with 207 all-purpose yards.

Finding the Rhythm
Redshirt freshman quarterback Stone Walker has stepped into his shoes over the last two weeks, so to speak, as the Houston, Texas, native has posted five touchdowns in leading Fort Lewis to back-to-back conference wins for the first time since 2017. In total, Walker has been an effective 26-for-40 (65 percent) through the air for 392 yards and three touchdowns while dynamically rushing for 107 yards and three touchdowns.

Scouting the Orediggers
Colorado School of Mines will be looking to rebound after falling 28-13 on the road last week to conference-leading and no. 7-ranked CSU Pueblo (9-1, 8-0 RMAC) over in Pueblo, Colo. As a unit, the Orediggers are scoring 34.8 points per game on 469.2 yards of total offense against its opponents' 21.1 points per game on 336.8 yards of offense.

Three quarterbacks have lined up under center for CSM, but it is Evan Foster who leads the pack with 174 completions in 249 attempts (69.8 percent) for 2,320 yards and 21 touchdowns with five interceptions. On the ground, Foster has scampered for just 134 yards and one score, leaving a majority of the rushing duties to redshirt junior Landon Walker who boasts 701 net yards and 10 touchdowns on 113 carries this season.

On defense, Jaden Healy leads all Orediggers with 53 total tackles, including 11.5 tackles for loss, while Adrian Moreno, Hayden Gregg, and Joel Diaz have supplied 48, 45, and 40 tackles as well. In addition, five Mines' players boast 1.5 or more sacks on the year led by Joey Beckner's three for a combined loss of 24 yards.

Thank You, Skyhawks
Saturday's contest will mark the end of the 2024 campaign. Fort Lewis will turn its attention ahead to National Signing Day in February alongside the spring training season.
