Stauffer, Latimer to represent Skyhawks at 2026 RMAC Football Kickoff in Denver

DURANGO, Colo. – Redshirt senior defensive end Walter Stauffer and junior wide receiver Solomon Latimer will represent the Fort Lewis College Skyhawks football team at the 2026 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Football Kickoff on Wednesday, July 22, at the state-of-the-art CAVEA Theater on the campus of Metropolitan State University of Denver.

The event will kick off on the RMAC Network free of charge at 10 a.m., beginning with the announcement of the 2026 Preseason All-RMAC Teams and Preseason Coaches' Poll. Head coach Johnny Cox, as well as Stauffer and Latimore, will appear shortly thereafter at 10:45 a.m. following New Mexico Highlands University. Commissioner Danielle Harris is scheduled to make an appearance at 11:45 a.m. The RMAC Network is accessible on any computer, tablet, smartphone, or smart TV, either by visiting RMACNetwork.com through a web browser or by downloading the RMAC Network app, which is compatible with Apple devices, Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, and Roku. The in-person event is not open to the public.

Fort Lewis carried a 2-9 overall record through the 2025 campaign, including a 1-8 record against conference opponents and a pair of 58-10 and 44-24 wins over Arizona Christian University (2-8, 1-5 Frontier) and Route 160 rival Adams State University (0-11, 0-9 RMAC), respectively. The Skyhawks put up 20.73 points per game, averaging 302.7 yards of total offense. Opponents scored at a clip of 33.09 points per game, averaging 382.8 yards of total offense.

The Skyhawks are set to open their 2026 schedule on the road in Liberty, Mo., at Greene Stadium on Saturday, Aug. 29, for the fourth consecutive season-opening contest against William Jewell College. Fort Lewis will then host Arizona Christian the following Saturday, Sept. 5, for its home opener at 6 p.m. under the lights of Ray Dennison Memorial Field.
