COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – For his efforts in leading Fort Lewis (8-5, 2-2 RMAC) to a 76-69 win over No. 8/4 West Texas A&M (9-2, 4-1 LSC), senior guard Biko Johnson has been named the Week Seven Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday.

Johnson, a transfer from Nebraska-Omaha and native of Carson, Calif., earns the first weekly honor of his career and the third for the Skyhawks this season. Fort Lewis has earned seven RMAC Player of the Week, Offensive or Defensive, over the last two seasons.

Standing at six-foot-two, Johnson carved up the Buffaloes defense for an NCAA career-high 27 points on 6-of-14 (42.9 percent) shooting from the field with a pair of three-pointers. As Fort Lewis and West Texas A&M battled through 14 ties and 15 lead changes, it was Johnson who supplied a crucial 6-for-6 mark at the free throw line across the final 1:30 seconds of action while FLC held the Buffaloes scoreless for 1:13 seconds of play to earn the Skyhawks first win over a ranked opponent this season.

In addition to his scoring output, Johnson was everywhere on the floor across his 35 minutes played as the King Drew High School graduate also finished second on the roster in rebounds with eight, all while leading all players in the contest with five assists and five steals to his name. Johnson also blocked one shot.

Fort Lewis is back in action this Saturday, Jan. 4, with its annual Native Americal Heritage Games powered by NABI. The Skyhawks will take on the visiting Skyhawks from Navajo Technical University (1-10-1) over at the Sun Ute Community Center in Ignacio, Colo., at 7:30 p.m. following the women's game.
