LAS VEGAS, Nev. – The Fort Lewis College men's golf team wrapped up the final day of the Las Vegas Desert Classic, their spring season opener, at Boulder Creek Golf Club. The Skyhawks managed to turn things around after a slow start on Monday, moving up one place to 17th as a unit and shooting a combined team score of 290 (+2) to bring its final score to 895, 31 strokes above par.

Ronald Kildall III led FLC over the past two days, finishing strong with a one-under-par 71 in the last round and scoring one-over-par for the tournament overall (217). Kildall drained an impressive four birdies and 11 pars to tie for 31st-place. Fort Lewis' Jake Chesler maintained his tie for 40th going into the last day of competition, shooting a solid 72 for an even-par and finishing the week with a 219 (+3). Jordan Jennings was able to shave off five strokes from the previous day, finishing with an even-par 72 and tying for 66th. Carson Kerr was the final Skyhawk to improve from the first two rounds, carding in a three-over-par score of 75 for the day.

Head Coach Sean Griswold saw massive improvement on the men's side and is optimistic for what's to come, "It was our first tournament of the spring, and we were knocking some of the rust off. We understand what aspects of the game we need to work on and are setting out a game plan for how to do that. Overall, I am very proud of the men and look forward to the rest of the season".
