Heck closes out indoor track season in prelims at NCAA Championships

PITTSBURG, Kan. – Senior Katie Heck wrapped up an impressive indoor track and field debut season on Friday, placing 15th in the 800m at the 2024 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships.

Heck raced in heat one alongside student-athletes from Western Washington, Northwest Missouri, Tiffin, Caly Poly Humoldt, and Adams State. Heck clocked times of 29.86 at the 200m mark, 1:20.56 (500m), and finished with a time of 2:12.06. Her time was ultimately not enough to advance to Saturday's finals.

The top two times from each heat, plus the next two fastest times were selected for the finals.

Heck will turn her attention to the outdoor season where she is the defending Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference champion in the 1500m, as well as the NCAA Division II National Runner-Up in the same event.
