Senior Katie Heck led the team with two, Second Team All-Conference honors on day three of the RMAC Championships

Outdoor track brings All-Conference total to six after final day of RMAC Championships

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – Skyhawks outdoor track brought its All-Conference total to six after four picked up honors on day three of the 2024 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships.

The success began in the finals of the women's 1500m where senior Katie Heck brought home Second Team All-Conference accolades. Heck finished in fifth with a time of 4:26.65 and was one of six to achieve a facility record in the race. Next, it was the men's 1500m where junior Brady Burrough placed fifth with a time of 3:51.02—earning Second Team All-Conference honors. Junior Conner Dosmann followed with a 12th-place finish and a time of 3:59.46.

Next, Heck toed the line in the women's 800m. She accomplished a Second Team-All Conference finish with a time of 2:13.20 which was good for sixth place. Burrough followed in the men's 800m where he closed out his day with an eighth-place finish and a time of 2:02.76.

Junior Hannah Hartwell continued her distance prowess in the 5k, her second event of the championships after earning First Team All-Conference honors in the 10k on Friday. Hartwell rounded out her impressive debut with a fifth-place finish and a time of 17:02.74 to pick up Second Team All-Conference accolades. The junior was one of nine to clock a facility record and one of five to pick up a provisional time. In the men's 5k, junior Ethan Bartlett led the way with a 10th-place time of 14:49.04. Sophomores Elijah Smith (15:02.18) and Bean Minor (15:09.89) followed in 15th and 16th-place, respectively.

The women's 4x400m relay closed out the competition, and the team of Heck, Aubrey Swindle, Claire Peterson, and Josie Coulter came away with a school record time of 4:00.96—good for ninth place.

"It was a great meet this weekend. Both teams did a fantastic job executing when it mattered. We had eight school records, six All-Conference performances, and NCAA provisional standards across the board," said head coach Shawn Jakubowski. "These are the types of meets that coaches remember for the rest of their careers. We still have a last chance meet on the schedule to try to get some runners secured in nationals."
