Skyhawks split day one of Kathleen Brasfield Invitational

SAN ANGELO, Texas – The Fort Lewis College volleyball team began the season with an exhilarating five-set win over UT Permian Basin before falling in late-night action to Emmanuel University to close out day one of the Kathleen Brasfield Invitational.

Comment from Head Coach Giedre Tarnauskaite
"It looks like we are still trying to put things together and figure out how to win. We had some lows, but we also enjoyed some highs. Ella (Butler) and Lauren (Shea) were unstoppable today on offense. Emery (Pomroy) was a force in the back row and made some amazing plays while playing like a seasoned veteran. We will be facing two very experienced teams tomorrow, so we need to be ready to fight right away."
