Women's soccer plays to draw against CSU Pueblo

PUEBLO, Colo. – Despite outshooting CSU Pueblo 14-3 in the match, the Fort Lewis College women's soccer team played to a scoreless draw against the Pack in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play on Thursday.

Fort Lewis moved to 6-4-2 on the year and 3-2-1 in conference play while CSU Pueblo sits at 3-4-5 overall and 2-1-3 in the league.

The Skyhawks owned a 6-1 edge in shots and a 4-2 advantage in corner kicks for the match. Fort Lewis was whistled for 12 fouls compared to seven for CSU Pueblo.

Senior defender Renee Junna led the team with two shots on goal, followed by senior Abigail Nkrumah, and juniors Jenna Salazar, Abila Tapia, and Amber Otts with one each. The defensive back of fifth year Danielle Gonzales, junior Ann Spence, and Junna added 90 minutes of effort. Freshman Trinity Lujan earned one save in the shutout.

Fort Lewis (6-4-2, 3-2-1 RMAC) returns to play next week with a trip to Black Hills State and (RV) Regis University. The Skyhawks face the Yellow Jackets on Friday, October 24 at 7:00 PM in Spearfish, followed by a Sunday match against the Rangers at 1:00 PM in Denver.
