Series with Western Colorado
The top-ranked Mountaineers have had the Skyhawks' number since the team's first meeting back on November 7, 1964. Western Colorado took that game 77-13 up in Gunnison, Colo., and has since dominated Fort Lewis to lead the series 44-17 all-time, 40-16 in conference action, and 22-7 on Ray Dennison Memorial Field. Additionally, Western Colorado has won the last six games and held the Skyhawks winless in Durango since October 4, 2008, when FLC won 20-17.

Western Colorado has lived up to its national hype with a perfect start thus far in 2025 while outscoring opponents 158-to-50 overall and by an average score of 39.5 to 12.5. Offensively, the Mountaineers are managing 411.5 yards per game on 221 yards passing and 190.5 yards rushing.
