Women's soccer advances to RMAC Semifinals, defeats Regis 2-0

DURANGO, Colo. – The Fort Lewis College women's soccer team completed an undefeated season at home on Sunday, earning a win 2-0 over No. 5-seeded Regis University in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Tournament Quarterfinal match and advancing to the Semifinal round on Wednesday.

The Skyhawks have earned 10 consecutive shutouts, a new program record with over 900 minutes of scoreless soccer from the Skyhawks defense. Fort Lewis did not allow a goal at home during the 2025 season and improved to 11-4-3 on the season.

Fort Lewis had a 10-9 advantage in shots and a 6-2 lead in shots on target. Regis had four corners while limiting Fort Lewis to zero, and the teams combined for 19 fouls.

Junior Jenna Salazar was responsible for the game winning goal, her eighth goal of the season to lead the team. Senior Anna Tucker scored the second goal for Fort Lewis, her seventh of the season. Both players assisted on each other's goals. The Skyhawks saw 90 minutes of effort from fifth year Danielle Gonzales, seniors Renee Junna and Dannon Yake, and junior Amber Otts. Freshman goalkeeper Trinity Lujan picked up two saves and slashed her goals against average to .35.

Fort Lewis was responsible for the game's first two shots, coming off the feet of Tucker and Coulter within the first four minutes. Regis locked in over the next eight minutes, playing to throw ins and a shot that sailed high in the 13th minute. Lujan held the match scoreless in the 18th minute when a long pass ahead crept into dangerous territory. The freshman left her position and made a diving grab to beat the pursuing Rangers player.

Tucker had a free kick chance in the 24th minute after Nkrumah drew a foul 10 yards out of the box, but the senior missed wide to hold the score. Fort Lewis had chances late in the half but could not capitalize. Lujan was tested at the buzzer with a shot that had a chance for the top-left pocket but pulled it down to send the game into halftime.

The Skyhawks came out of the break and immediately capitalized on a pinpoint pass from Tucker. The senior crossed the ball to an awaiting Salazar who used a deflection for her eighth goal of the season at a 1-0 lead just 49 seconds into play. Fort Lewis added its second goal of the match in the 57th minute with a long pass ahead to Tucker. The senior poked her seventh goal of the season over the left shoulder of the keeper to double the lead. The Rangers put up a pair of shots down the stretch, but Lujan continued her dominance in goal to close out the win.

Fort Lewis (11-4-3) advances to the RMAC Tournament Semifinals on Wednesday at 4:00 PM in Grand Junction. The Skyhawks faced Colorado Mesa earlier in the season in a match that was canceled due to lightning. Last season, Fort Lewis advanced to the RMAC Tournament Championship with a penalty kick shootout victory over No. 18 Colorado Mesa.
