Skyhawks take to Ray Dennison for first time in 2025

DURANGO, Colo. – The Skyhawks women's lacrosse team is set for its long-awaited home opener, hosting UCCS and No. 17 Regis University at Ray Dennison Memorial Field for a pair of RMAC matchups.

Last Time Out
Fort Lewis finally returns home after playing its first seven games on the road. The Skyhawks went 1-2 on their recent three-game trip, securing a win over William Jewell College. They closed the stretch with an 18-3 loss to Rockhurst University, where Rockhurst dominated possession, outshooting Fort Lewis 38-13 and forcing 14 turnovers.

Senior Phoebe Ramirez led the Skyhawks with two goals, while Diamond Velasco added a goal and two assists. Sydney Tannaci recorded five draw controls, and Samantha Rodgers forced two turnovers. Goalkeeper Caley Lay made five saves in 30 minutes of play.

Scouting UCCS
The Mountain Lions (4-2, 1-1 RMAC) split their games last week, defeating Westminster 16-12 before falling to Colorado Mesa 18-15. Against common opponents, UCCS beat Davenport (18-3) but lost to Rockhurst (16-10), while Fort Lewis fell to both teams.

UCCS averages 15.2 goals per game on 29 shots, with a 78.7% shots-on-goal percentage. The team has recorded 160 ground balls, 81 draw controls, and 55 caused turnovers, clearing successfully 91.9% of the time.

Regis averages 11.7 goals per game, compared to 10.4 allowed. They total 30 shots per game, 125 ground balls, 106 draw controls, and 77 caused turnovers, with an 89% clearance rate.
