DURANGO, Colo. – The Skyhawks outdoor track team returns to Pueblo this week for the Spank Blasing Invitational, scheduled for Friday afternoon. The meet honors CSU Pueblo Hall of Famer James "Spank" Blasing, who coached from 1956 to 1984.

Last Time Out
Fort Lewis opened the season at the ThunderBowl last week with strong performances. Junior Caden Resendez set a program record in the 10,000m, finishing in 11th place with a time of 30:24.65. After the first week of competition, Resendez ranks eighth in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC).

Junior Alliyah Molina claimed first place in the women's 10,000m with an NCAA provisional time of 35:34.65—the best mark in the RMAC so far this season.

Weather Report
Due to impending weather, the meet has been moved up one day. As of now, Friday's forecast calls for a high of 81°F and a low of 45°F. Wind speeds are expected to average around nine miles per hour—an improvement from last week's gusty conditions. Rain is likely over the weekend, prompting the schedule adjustment.
