DURANGO, Colo. – This week's meet schedule adjustment shows the Skyhawks outdoor track crew heading to the Maverick Invitational from Thursday to Friday in Grand Junction.

The team was previously scheduled to compete in Pueblo for the third-straight weekend, but one canceled meet later, they are heading to the campus of Colorado Mesa University.

About the Maverick Invite
This week's meet is the first at home for Colorado Mesa in the 2025 outdoor season. Competition begins on Thursday with the 3k steeplechase (4:45 p.m.) and wraps up with the 5k (6:10 p.m.). On Friday, the start time is noon with relays and ends four hours later with relays.

Teams will compete at the CMU Track & Field Complex, which opened in 2020. The complex features an eight-lane track, four jump pits, two throwing cages, two pole vault runways, two shot put rings, a steeplechase pit, and a high jump area for competition. It was the site of the 2024 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) Championships.

There will be nine teams and a number of unattached athletes at the invite this week. From the RMAC, the teams are Adams State, Colorado Christian, Colorado Mesa, CSU Pueblo, Fort Lewis, Western Colorado, and Westminster. Trinidad State and Wyoming round out the group of teams.
