GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – Battling breezy conditions at The Golf Club at Redlands Mesa, the Skyhawks managed to shoot 316 (+28) as a team, paced by third-place Peyton Gibby's first-round 74 (+2), to sit in third place as a team at the Maverick Challenge.

Fort Lewis trails second-place Colorado Mesa's 308 and first-place Westminster's 300 (+12). The Mavericks and Griffins each boast four players within the top ten on the individual leaderboard, including WU's Ashley Lam, who leads the field with the only below-par score of 71.

Gibby resides in third place, and Dimery Plewe in eighth place as the only two Skyhawks in the top ten. Plewe finished six strokes over par with a 78. Gibby knocked down a team-high four birdies followed by Plewe with three.

Isabel Bustillos and Vivianna Holguin round out Fort Lewis' team score contributors, finishing in 12^th and 13^th place on the backs of 81 (+9) and 83 (+11), respectively. Sarah Grenemyer, the fifth player in Fort Lewis' five-player lineup, sits in 20^th on an 88 (+16).

Annika Gutierrez (83, +11), Elina Beyer (86, +14), and Sabrina Ladd (93, +21), who competed unattached, notched finishes of 13^th, 19^th, and 22^nd, respectively.
