Women's lacrosse travel to face #16 Rangers and Mountain Lions

DURANGO, Colo. – The road awaits Skyhawks women's lacrosse yet again as the team heads to the Front Range for Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) games versus No. 16 Regis University and UCCS.

Last Time Out
Fort Lewis lost two conference games last week. On Friday, the Skyhawks suffered a 20-4 loss to Westminster University. The Skyhawks were outshot 43-18, including a 33-14 disadvantage in shots on goal. The teams combined for 26 turnovers, and the Griffins controlled the draw, winning 11 of 19.

Sunday's game against Colorado Mesa resulted in a 17-6 loss. Six goals were the most scored for the squad since their 12-11 win over William Jewell on March 12. Fort Lewis was outshot 40-21 with a 28-15 difference in shots on goal. The Skyhawks committed 20 turnovers while going 16-of-21 on clears. Colorado Mesa controlled 15 draws and collected 26 ground balls. Freshman Jasmine Nguyen scored four goals for the Skyhawks.

Scouting No. 16 Regis
Regis is 6-4 overall and 4-1 in conference play. After dropping their league opener to Colorado Mesa, the Rangers have responded with four straight wins. Last week, Regis played just one game, which resulted in a 12-11 comeback win over UCCS. The Rangers trailed 5-3 after halftime but responded with eight goals in the second half to seal the win.

Scouting UCCS
The Mountain Lions are 6-3 on the year and 3-2 in RMAC play. They boast a 3-1 record when playing at home. The team's lone game last week was the narrow, 12-11 loss to No. 16 Regis. Before Thurday's loss, UCCS had picked up wins over Fort Lewis (18-3) and CSU Pueblo (21-8).
