Men’s golf set for final spring tune-up at RJGA Palm Valley Classic

DURANGO, Colo. – The Fort Lewis men's golf team will make its final appearance of the regular season this Monday and Tuesday at the Ruidoso Junior Golf Association Palm Valley Classic at the Palm Valley Golf Club in Goodyear, Arizona.
 
The Skyhawks will take on the North and South courses of Palm Valley Golf Club, facing 7,015 yards and a par of 72. Both of the nine-hole courses were designed by renowned architect Arthur Hills.
 
Last time out, Fort Lewis took home its second-highest finish of the season with a fifth-place finish among 14 teams at The Stack Cougar-Burro Collegiate at Verrado Golf Club and the Golf Club of Estrella in Buckeye and Goodyear, Ariz., respectively. FLC shot a combined 881 (+17). The Skyhawks topped No. 42 Colorado School Mines as well as No. 14 Cal State East Bay, and No. 29 Stanislaus State.
 
Traejan Andrews led Fort Lewis in the tournament, garnering a tie for 15th on the individual leaderboard on the back of a one-over-par finish with a 217 overall. Ronald Kildall III was the only other Skyhawk to finish in the top 25, finishing in a tie for 17th with a 219 (+3) total.

Fort Lewis will get just 11 days off to make any final adjustments before the postseason begins with the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championships at Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nev., from Sunday through Tuesday, Apr. 20-22.
