Shanks named RMAC All-Academic First-Team, five Skyhawks earn Honor Roll accolades

5/13/2025 12:00:00 PM

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference has announced its 2025 softball All-Academic awards, with Fort Lewis' Amiee Shanks earning her third nod to the All-Academic First-Team alongside five Skyhawks who were named to the league's Honor Roll.

Each institution's athletic communications directors nominate student-athletes who academically maintain at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA, along with the other criteria for the Academic Honor Roll, for recognition on the First Team Academic All-RMAC in each sport. The league's athletic communications directors for that sport vote to compose the First Team Academic All-RMAC and select the Academic Player of the Year. They are not permitted to vote for their own student-athletes. To be eligible for Academic Honor Roll, student-athletes must carry at least a 3.30 GPA.

Shanks, a senior out of Canyon Del Oro High School in Tucson, Ariz., has earned All-Academic First-Team honors in each of the three seasons she has been eligible, joining RMAC Academic Player of the Year Ally Distler, Colorado Mesa University, as the only three-peat selections. This season, Shanks led the Skyhawks pitching staff with a 4.03 earned run average through 74.2 innings pitched, 20 appearances, and seven complete games. Shanks has since graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology with a 3.93 Grade Point Average (GPA).
