DURANGO, Colo. -- The Fort Lewis College Department of Athletics is excited to announce the six individuals who will be inducted this upcoming fall to the Fort Lewis College Athletics Hall of Fame.
The 2025 Hall of Fame class consists of Jordan Ashby (Football-Student-Athlete), Wayne Barger (Administration-Assistant AD/Athletic Training), Adrianne Dettler (Volleyball-Student-Athlete), Al Harper (Meritorious), Dave Preszler (Meritorious-Coach-Administration), and Thomas (Truck) Stevenson (Football-Student-Athlete).
"It's an honor to host the Hall of Fame Ceremony, and we are thrilled that for the second year in a row, it will be during Homecoming Week," said Director of Athletics, Travis Whipple. "Congratulations on behalf of the Selection Committee, the Department of Athletics, and Fort Lewis College to this outstanding group of inductees. Tradition is one of our core values and will certainly be on display this October. Please make plans to join us as we celebrate this group, reflect on our past, and provide updates about our exciting future."
This year's ceremony is scheduled for Thursday, October 16 inside of Whalen Gymnasium. Doors will open at 4:30 p.m., with the event beginning at 5:00 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to attend the home men's soccer game following the induction ceremony. Food will be provided by a community establishment with drinks made available thanks to partnership with A&L Coors and Durango Coca-Cola.
The Fort Lewis College Athletics Hall of Fame is an effort to recognize former student-athletes, coaches, staff, and others associated with Fort Lewis College Athletics, as well as outstanding teams and the meritorious efforts of alumni and friends on behalf of the College's athletics program. These inductees have distinguished themselves in the field of athletics by virtue of their performance in competition or through their outstanding contributions on behalf of FLC Athletics.
Jordan Ashby – Football (2004-2007)
Jordan Ashby was a standout offensive lineman for the Skyhawks and played a key role in the team's resurgence during his collegiate career. He appeared in 26 games, helping the team to a cumulative 20 wins during his time on the field, including an impressive 13-8 mark over his final two seasons. His junior year (6-4) marked Fort Lewis's first winning season in 19 years. Ashby was also part of a historic stretch in which the Skyhawks posted back-to-back winning seasons for the first time in the program's more than 44-year history. In 2007, the team achieved another milestone by defeating every Colorado Division II opponent—only the second time that feat had been accomplished.

Wayne Barger – Administration (Assistant Athletic Director/Athletic Training)
Wayne Barger served as a pillar of Fort Lewis College athletics for 22 years before retiring in 2018. During his distinguished tenure, he guided and cared for more than 4,000 student-athletes as head athletic trainer, while also supervising assistant trainers and mentoring numerous students. Barger was instrumental in establishing the college's Athletic Training Education Program, which achieved national accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE). At the time, Fort Lewis was one of only five institutions in Colorado to earn this distinction. In recognition of his enduring impact, the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) named its Athletic Trainer of the Year award in his honor. The "Wayne Barger Athletic Trainer of the Year" award is presented each summer during the RMAC Hall of Fame ceremony.

Adrianne Dettler – Volleyball (2004-2007)
A cornerstone of the Skyhawks' defense throughout her career, Adrianne Dettler led the team in digs all four seasons, amassing a program-record 1,969 career digs. Her standout performance earned her RMAC Defensive Player of the Year honors in 2006, along with back-to-back selections to the All-RMAC Second Team. In recognition of her exceptional contributions, Dettler was named to the Fort Lewis College All-Century Team in 2011. She appears on the program's leaderboard for most digs in a three-set match four times and holds seven spots on the list for most digs in a four-set match—including a school-record 34 digs against Mesa in 2006. Dettler also ranks seventh and fourth in single-season digs (605 in 2006, 528 in 2007) and holds the second- and third-highest marks for single-season digs per set (5.13 in 2006, 5.08 in 2007).

Al Harper – Meritorious
Al Harper is a loyal supporter of Skyhawks athletics and the Durango community and can frequently be seen front row at many Fort Lewis sporting events. Harper, who has owned the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad since 1998, boasts meaningful contributions to the Skyhawks Department of Athletics, including his collaborations on game day experiences, corporate sponsorship, marketing, and donations. Al and the Harper Family continue to be leaders in support of the Skyhawks and established one of the first endowments to enhance strategic initiatives within the department.

Dave Preszler – Meritorious (Coach/Director of Athletics)
Preszler dedicated 14 years to the Skyhawks, beginning in 1992 as the offensive coordinator for the football team. After two seasons, he was promoted to head coach, a role he held for another two years before transitioning into administration as the Assistant Director of Athletics. Preszler known for hiring and developing outstanding talent, has produced multiple Division I and NFL-caliber coaches. In 2000, he was appointed Director of Athletics, a position he held for six years. Preszler concluded his tenure with Fort Lewis Athletics in the spring of 2006, marking the end of a distinguished 14-year career with the Skyhawks. Following his time at Fort Lewis, he continued his work in education and athletics at Bayfield High School and Durango High School. Dave continues to serve on a number of committees on campus to help advance Fort Lewis Athletics and community initiatives.
Thomas "Truck" Stevenson – Football (2001-2005)
A member of the Skyhawks football team, Thomas "Truck" Stevenson enjoyed a fruitful career in the blue and gold. In 2003, Stevenson led the squad in tackles for loss (9.5) and sacks (5). He battled back from a major injury, returned as a first-team All-RMAC Selection, and led a regionally ranked Skyhawks team. As the anchor to the read scheme defensive unit, he attracted attention and made plays from a variety of spots on the field. Stevenson was physically imposing and a true student of the game. He was a leader for the Skyhawks while on campus and later joined the coaching staff to continue to elevate FLC Football. NFFCC All-Colorado First Team (2004)
