DURANGO, Colo. – Colorado will keep another homegrown talent in-state next fall as head coach Jordan Mast announces the signing of Ty Yoder to the Fort Lewis College men's basketball team for the 2025-26 campaign.

A five-foot-eleven guard out of Resurrection Christian School and Fort Collins, Colo., Yoder is no stranger to excellence on the hardwood. A four-year letterwinner, Yoder helped the Cougars boys basketball team to a 95-13 overall record and a trio of trips to the state title game.

"Ty Yoder is a flat-out winner!" Mast shared. "As the leader and point guard at Resurrection Christian, Ty guided the program to back-to-back state championships. We want to recruit Colorado kids who are great people and know how to win. Ty checks all three boxes, and we could not be more excited to add him to our team and see what he can do down here in Durango."

After runners-up finish in 2023, Yoder and the Cougars responded by topping Kent Denver 76-61 in the 2024 4A Boys Basketball State Championship game to capture the first state title in program history. This past March, Yoder and the Cougars achieved perfection, defeating Strasburg 55-42 to capture the program's second state title and secure a perfect 28-0 record on the season, including the Cougars' 42 consecutive victory dating back through the 2024 season. Yoder scored a game-high 17 points in the title bout.

Yoder was one of Resurrection Christian's finest, capping his career with 1,631 career points and the title of the Colorado 3A Boys Basketball Player of the Year. Running point, Yoder dished out 537 career assists for a mark of 5.03 assists-per-game, both marks ranking first all-time in program history. In addition, Yoder had several 30-point outings, dished out 13 assists in a single game, and holds the school record for single-season assists with 161.

Voted team captain all four seasons, Yoder was a three-time First-Team All-State honoree, a four-time First-Team All-Conference selection, the two-time Conference Player of the Year, the two-time Reporter Herald Player of the Year, and an All-State honorable mention.

DURANGO, Colo. – Fort Lewis College men's basketball has signed Garrett Barger, a six-foot-nine forward, out of Eaglecrest High School as the program's final recruit for the 2025-26 campaign.

Barger was a staple for the Raptors up in Centennial, Colo., lettering all four years of high school while amassing an 80-25 career record before capping his high school career by leading Eaglecrest to the Colorado 6A Boys Basketball State Championship title, dethroning 2024 champions Valor Christian 65-63. In addition, Barger split time between the forward and center positions.

"Garrett was a big-time player here in the state of Colorado," head coach Jordan Mast commented. "Even though he stands at six-foot-nine, what impressed us most was his relentless motor and ability to move. We believe he can develop into a premier big within the RMAC. Between his skill set and his ability to win, Garrett will be a big-time player for the Skyhawks."

A dominant threat on both ends of the floor, Barger once hauled in 19 rebounds while also supplying his squad with 20 points on the offensive end. His efforts led to a plethora of awards, including First-Team All-Colorado, Second-Team All-State, and First-Team All-Conference honors. Barger was also voted team captain.

Last season, Fort Lewis returned to the RMAC Tournament for the fifth consecutive season and made its third-straight appearance in the tournament's semifinals. The Skyhawks posted a 19-12 overall record and a 12-8 mark in conference play, earning three all-conference selections. Off the court, the program maintained a 3.04 Grade Point Average as a team through the fall semester.
