DURANGO, Colo. – The Skyhawks men's basketball team has landed Donald Bangham, Jr., a six-foot-five junior transfer guard out of Chipola College, for the 2025-26 season.

A native of Kansas City, Mo., and a graduate of Ruskin High School, Bangham, Jr. has spent three seasons at the NJCAA (National Junior College Athletic Association) level, most recently spending the 2024-25 campaign with the Indians at Chipola College. While in Marianna, Fla., Bangham, Jr. made ten starts in 31 games, helping CC to a 24-8 overall record and an appearance in the NJCAA Division I Men's Basketball Championship while averaging 6.4 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game on shooting clips of 37.5 percent from the field, 27.8 percent from the three-point line, and 65.4 percent at the free throw line.

"Donald "DJ" Bangham, Jr., is a dynamic wing that can flat out defend," head coach Jordan Mast commented. "His relentless motor allows him to defend multiple positions, and size and athleticism will make him one of the premier wings in the RMAC. Even though we know he'll make an instant impact helping us rebound and defend, he also carries a very polished offensive game and can score in a multitude of ways."

Before joining the Indians, Bangham, Jr. began his collegiate career with the Cavaliers at Johnson County Community College. After utilizing a redshirt in 2022-23, Bangham, Jr., took the floor in 2023-24, making 21 starts across his 31 games played en route to helping JCCC to a district championship and a berth in the NJCAA Division II National Tournament.

Bangham, Jr. twice posted a career-high 29 points with the Cavaliers while averaging 12.3 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game for the year. In addition to making 44 steals and blocking 16 shots, Bangham, Jr. also fired off at 51.2 percent from the field, 34.4 percent from deep, and 71.8 percent at the free throw line. In high school, Bangham, Jr., was a four-year standout, garnering All-State, First-Team All-Conference, and team captain honors.

Last season, Fort Lewis returned to the RMAC Tournament for the fifth consecutive season and made its third-straight appearance in the tournament's semifinals. The Skyhawks posted a 19-12 overall record and a 12-8 mark in conference play, earning three all-conference selections. Off the court, the program maintained a 3.04 Grade Point Average as a team through the fall semester.
